Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya informed that PM Li is scheduled to arrive in Jakarta on Saturday and will be welcomed by President Prabowo on Sunday.
"That is correct. PM Li Qiang will arrive in Jakarta on Saturday afternoon," he confirmed on Friday.
The plan for Li's visit to Indonesia was first revealed by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on April 22. The information was confirmed by Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono on May 15.
"Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is currently the ASEAN chairman and will hold the ASEAN-GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council)-China Summit, and we support this positive initiative of Malaysia," Wang said.
"We also want to maintain and promote China-Indonesia cooperation. So, we think that if possible, PM Li Qiang will also visit Indonesia," he added.
During a briefing in Beijing on Thursday, the spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, said that the visit is expected to strengthen China-Indonesia solidarity in various fields.
"China hopes the visit can continue the traditional friendship between the two countries, deepen solidarity and coordination, continue to strengthen the paradigm of cooperation with five pillars, namely political, economic, people-to-people, and cultural, maritime, and security cooperation," Mao added.
She informed that the visit also aims to fulfill the invitation of President Prabowo Subianto.
"China and Indonesia are expected to jointly move forward toward modernization on their respective paths, enrich the China-Indonesia community with a shared future, and make greater contributions to regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity," she added.
She said that PM Li will meet President Prabowo and other Indonesian leaders and exchange in-depth views on the strong comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries.
He is also scheduled to attend events organized by the business community during his visit to Indonesia.
