The Chinese Premier said the current bilateral meeting served as an opportunity to explore ways to expand cooperation in various sectors with Indonesia.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chinese Premier Li Qiang conveyed greetings and best wishes from President Xi Jinping to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during a bilateral meeting at the Merdeka Palace here on Sunday.
“I would like to extend warm greetings and best wishes from President Xi Jinping to Your Excellency Mr. President,” Premier Li stated during the meeting.
Premier Li expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to be welcomed in Jakarta at the invitation of President Prabowo, noting that this year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and China.
He also highlighted President Prabowo’s visit to Beijing in November 2024, which took place approximately one month after his inauguration as the President.
“Your Excellency visited China in November last year. The two heads of state reached an important consensus on building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future,” Li said.
He continued, "This consensus holds regional and global significance, has elevated bilateral relations to a new historical level, and opened up broader prospects for cooperation,” he added.

President Prabowo during the meeting was accompanied by several high-ranking officials, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, National Economic Council (DEN) Chairperson Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, and Investment Minister Rosan Perkasa Roeslani.
The bilateral meeting took place following a state welcome ceremony at the Merdeka Palace.
President Prabowo personally received Premier Li upon his arrival and greeted him at the drop-off point. The two leaders exchanged a warm handshake and proceeded to the podium for the official welcoming ceremony.
The ceremony began with the national anthems of both countries, accompanied by a 19-gun salute.
President Prabowo and Premier Li Qiang then reviewed the guard of honor in the palace courtyard before taking turns introducing their respective delegations and entering the Merdeka Palace.
