Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto extended an invitation to Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in Indonesia, emphasizing not only natural resource downstreaming but also the crucial science and technology sector.

He conveyed this message during his speech at the Indonesia-China Business Reception, an event also attended by Chinese Premier Li Qiang, held in Jakarta on Saturday.

"I invite Chinese entrepreneurs to continue investing in Indonesia across all fields. Not only in the downstreaming of natural resources, but also in education, health, tourism, and science and technology," the President stated.

Prabowo then underscored the importance of economic relations between Indonesia and China as a long-term strategic partnership that delivers benefits, not just for the two countries, but for the wider Asian region.

According to the president, cooperation between the two nations has already yielded significant projects, including the construction of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train and an industrial area based on nickel downstreaming.

China currently stands as Indonesia's largest trading partner, with an annual trade value exceeding 130 billion us dollars.

Furthermore, Indonesia views China as a vital partner in the development of its national industry and technology.

On the other hand, Prabowo also highlighted the importance of investment diversification, stressing that Indonesia's future necessitates acceleration in sectors that offer high added value and direct social impact.

"I invite Indonesian entrepreneurs to position China as a learning partner, a production partner, and a partner to jointly enter the global market," he added.

On this occasion, Prabowo also expressed his respect and appreciation to China for its active role in supporting developing countries, including Indonesia.

"I would like to express my respect to the people of China who have consistently supported the interests of developing countries, consistently opposed oppression, imperialism, colonialism, and apartheid," he remarked.
