He also noted that gas lifting had already achieved 120 percent of its State Budget target. The natural gas lifting goal in the Budget is set at 1.005 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOEPD).
Given these figures, Lahadalia remains optimistic that the overall oil and gas lifting targets for the 2025 State Budget will be met.
"God willing, they'll be achieved," he stated in Jakarta on Tuesday, May 27.
The Minister's remarks followed a meeting of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Task Force (SKK Migas) Supervisory Board, where Finance Minister Sri Mulyani also serves as a member.
The national oil and gas lifting target for 2025 is set at 1.61 million BOEPD, comprising 605 thousand barrels of oil per day (BOPD) for oil and 1.005 million BOEPD for gas.
Lahadalia confidently expressed that oil lifting in 2025 could even surpass its target.
He's aiming for the country to reach the ambitious goal of 900 thousand BPH by 2029, a target set by President Prabowo Subianto. Currently, Indonesia's oil lifting stands at 580 thousand BPH.
