In a statement issued on Thursday, Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism said that the “Joint Vision 2050”—agreed upon during a bilateral meeting—includes plans to strengthen collaboration in tourism and culture.
Both governments have committed to increasing tourist exchanges as a way to enhance people-to-people ties between the two nations.
A Cultural Declaration, aimed at deepening cultural exchange and fostering closer relations between the citizens of both countries, will serve as a foundation for expanded cooperation in tourism, arts, and culture.
The declaration includes a joint commitment to promote the richness and diversity of each country’s culinary traditions. Both sides also agreed to develop a long-term, partnership-based campaign strategy to promote gastronomy.

The visit of French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron to Indonesia from May 27–29 is expected to open new opportunities for bilateral tourism cooperation.
During the visit, Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism, Widyanti Putri Wardhana, accompanied the First Lady at a state banquet and other events at the National Museum in Jakarta and Borobudur Temple in Magelang, Central Java.
“Events like these help showcase Indonesia’s cultural diversity to the world. I hope they also support the growth of sustainable tourism in Indonesia,” Wardhana stated.
