"Eid al-Adha is a time that teaches us about sincerity, faithfulness, and sacrifice for the greater good," he wrote on his Instagram account (@presidenrepublikindonesia) on Friday.
He then cited the example of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail as a reminder to always prioritize the interests of the people and nation above personal interests.
The president expressed hope that the Eid al-Adha momentum can be interpreted as a unifying force for solidarity and a foundation for building Indonesia with a spirit of devotion and unity.
Prabowo concluded his message by extending Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijriah greetings.
The head of state attended the Eid al-Adha prayer at Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta, Friday, along with several state officials and ministers of the Red and White Cabinet.
Among those present were MPR Speaker, Ahmad Muzani; DPD Speaker Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin; Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian; Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), M. Herindra; and Head of the Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla), Vice Admiral Irvansyah.

Also in attendance were Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy Admiral Muhammad Ali, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya who sat beside the president.
Eid al-Adha is a major Hajj holiday that falls on the 10th of Zulhijah in the Hijri calendar, marked by the ritual slaughter of sacrificial animals such as cows or goats for those who are able. This year, Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijri falls on Friday, June 6, 2025.
This celebration not only marks the culmination of the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca but also serves as a moment to reflect on the value of sacrifice and obedience to Allah SWT.
Muslims around the world observe this occasion by performing Eid prayers and slaughtering sacrificial animals, emulating the story of Prophet Ibrahim.
