This was announced by the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie, in a statement issued on Tuesday.
He said that this plan was communicated by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and ASEAN, Marc Gerritsen, during a recent meeting with Kadin.
Bakrie noted that about 120 representatives from Dutch companies will visit Indonesia on June 16 as part of a trade and investment mission. The delegation will focus on three main sectors: food security, maritime affairs, and water management.
"Their mission is crucial. They are not solely focused on Jakarta. These 120 company delegates will be split up, with some visiting Medan, Semarang, and Makassar. Their mission is based on the targeted focus," he stated.
The Netherlands is Indonesia's largest investor from the European Union, accounting for around 46 percent of the bloc's total investment.
"This is a significant figure, not just because we have a good relationship but also because economically, it is very significant," Bakrie explained.
In addition to the priority sectors, the meeting discussed social programs such as free nutritious meals (MBG), provision of affordable housing, and potential cooperation in providing migrant workers, including sailors and workers in the health sector.
"The target is to find partners, not just trading partners, but investment partners," Bakrie affirmed.
Bakrie added that the US$300 million the Netherlands wanted to invest in Indonesia was intended to start long-term businesses.
"Hence, their plan seems very concrete," he said.
During the meeting, Bakrie said, Ambassador Gerritsen expressed appreciation for Kadin's openness and support in this mission.
Gerritsen emphasized that cooperation with Kadin is highly strategic for bridging Indonesia's development needs with the Netherlands' strengths in the private sector.
He also stated that the US$300 million investment had been dedicated through the Dutch Invest International institution to support investment initiatives in Indonesia.
This funding will finance long-term and sustainable business projects in various priority sectors.
"The (Dutch) Embassy will do our best to connect partners from both countries to realize Indonesia's development goals," Gerritsen told Bakrie.
