Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Veronica Tan, has emphasized that efforts to improve the quality of human resources must be carried out inclusively, without gender-based discrimination.

"The 1945 Constitution guarantees equal justice for all Indonesians, regardless of men and women. This principle of equality is enshrined in our Constitution," she said at a discussion on "Inspiration for Indonesian Women to be Resilient, Independent, and Successful."

"Meanwhile, the Pancasila's fifth precept also contains the value of justice," she noted, according to a statement released by the ministry here on Tuesday.

"If we refer to the fourth point of the Asta Cita, the president and vice president have stressed the importance of strengthening human resources as we prepare for the Golden Generation 2045," she said.

According to Tan, the process of human resource development must begin within the family, the smallest unit of society, and keep out gender discrimination.

"Enhancing human resource quality must be done without gender discrimination. Both men and women have the same right to grow and thrive," she said.

To support the Golden Generation vision of Indonesia becoming an advanced nation by 2045, the government is continuing to encourage women's active participation across various sectors by implementing policies that promote equal access and increase motivation and opportunities.

One of the policies is affirmative action on women's political representation, which is regulated by Law No. 7 of 2017.

"The real challenge lies in applying these policies in the field. It all comes back to the family, which is the smallest unit of a nation. Families must instill a mindset about equal access," she stressed.

According to Tan, women who become entrepreneurs, work, and earn an income not only contribute to their family's economy but also the Golden Generation vision.
