The MoUs between state-owned defense companies, private players, and foreign defense firms were signed simultaneously.
The companies comprised PT Pindad, PT Dirgantara Indonesia, PT PAL Indonesia, PT Len, PT Dahana, PT Republik Defens Indonesia, PT Praba Cipta Mandiri, PT Nusantara Turbine Propulsi, and PT Agrapana Nugraha Katara.
They further included PT Tesco Indomaritim, PT Indonesia Defence Systems, PT Aggiomultimex International Group, PT Sapta Cakra Manunggal, PT Mitra Harapan Abadi, PT Mulia Buana Dharma Trans, PT Noahtu Shipyard.
Ellipse Project UK also inked an agreement in collaboration with privately-owned enterprises.
The MoUs signed in Prabowo's presence included an agreement between the Ministry of Defense and the Turkish Defense Industry Secretariat (Savunma Sanayii Baskanligi/SSB) on the purchase of the fifth-generation fighter jet KAAN made by Turkish Aerospace Industries.
The Turkish government was represented by president of the Turkish Defense Industry Secretariat, Haluk Gorgun.
Prabowo opened the Indo Defence Expo & Forum at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
The event, which ends on June 14, 2025, has drawn participation from 1,180 companies from 55 countries. Several participating countries, including Turkey, the United States, and France, have set up pavilions at the expo to highlight the strengths of their defense industries.
At the opening ceremony, President Prabowo said that the exhibition is meant to be a forum for all groups to keep up with the technological and scientific advancements in the defense sector.
On the occasion, he also launched the MV3 EV electric tactical vehicle, Pandu, produced by state-owned defense equipment manufacturer PT Pindad.
