Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has emphasized that Indonesia’s natural resources must be managed properly to provide the maximum benefits to the people.

“We have extraordinary resources, but we need to be more brave, (and) manage the resources better,” he said at the closing of the International Conference on Infrastructure (ICI) 2025 in Jakarta on Thursday.

According to Prabowo, the United Nations (UN) has predicted global crises related to food, energy, and water.

However, Indonesia is in a relatively favorable position because it has vast and fertile land, adequate water availability, and natural resources across its lands and seas, he said.

He opined that these resources are not being managed optimally, noting that there are still many resources that are not enjoyed directly by the people.

He further said that his government will prioritize efficiency and savings in managing the state budget. This step is aimed at directing investment to important sectors such as food and energy.

He affirmed that he has seen positive indications from the policies implemented by his government.

“What I am seeking to secure is Indonesia’s food and energy sources, and thank God, the signs are clear with the policies we have implemented in the last few months,” he said.

He also underscored the importance of collaboration among all parties, as well as the key role of resources in facing challenges related to national development.

“We are not afraid of obstacles, we are not afraid of hardships, we are not afraid of threats; we will face the difficulties quickly and we will find solutions rapidly,” he emphasized.
