Speaking in Jakarta on Monday, Hanggodo highlighted that the use of digital service information systems is an important breakthrough for closely monitoring the developments of projects at 63 locations across Indonesia in real time.
This technology encompasses Continuous Auditing and Continuous Monitoring (CACM), the use of building information modeling (BIM), drones, and online-connected CCTV.
"We utilize digital technology to improve transparency and efficiency in the management of education infrastructure projects," he remarked.
Hanggodo emphasized that basic infrastructure, such as school buildings, dormitories, sanitation facilities, as well as other supporting learning facilities, must be available in adequate condition.
According to the minister, this is essential to ensure that children, especially those from extremely poor families, have access to quality education.
As of June 22, the construction of school buildings intended for the Sekolah Rakyat program had reached 61.78 percent completion, with a target finish date of July 8, 2025.
The minister also underlined the importance of these projects as part of the efforts to support the realization of equitable access to education in Indonesia.
Furthermore, he stated that Sekolah Rakyat plays a key role in the efforts to alleviate poverty through inclusive and quality education.
"Through the development of Sekolah Rakyat, we are seeking to provide free, proper, and quality education facilities to children from extremely poor families," he remarked.
Sekolah Rakyat is set to begin operations in July 2025. Students eligible for enrollment in the tuition-free schools are those from poor and extremely poor families.
Earlier, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education announced that it is prepared to provide around four thousand candidates as prospective teachers for the schools.
