He conveyed his appreciation during a bilateral meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on the sidelines of the 51st Ministerial Conference of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held in Istanbul, Turkey, on June 21–22.
According to a statement issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, the evacuation was carried out as a precaution amid escalating tensions in Iran following Israeli attacks.
During the meeting, Bayramov shared Azerbaijan's concerns over the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East and its potential impact on regional stability.
He also reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s appreciation for its cooperation with Indonesia, both as fellow members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
Bayramov further expressed thanks for Indonesia’s support during Azerbaijan’s successful bid to join the D-8 group in 2024.
To further enhance bilateral relations, both ministers agreed to explore untapped economic potential—particularly in sectors such as energy, transportation, tourism, people-to-people exchanges, and connectivity.
