Mataram SAR Office head, Muhamad Hariyadi, said that one of the search personnel reached the victim—identified as JDSP, 27—around 6 p.m. local time, approximately 600 meters below the location where she initially fell.
"According to preliminary checks, we found no sign of life on the victim," Hariyadi said, adding that three other rescuers who later reached the site confirmed the same.
The team promptly covered the victim's body, while other personnel at the descent point began preparing for the evacuation.
Due to poor visibility and unfavorable weather, the evacuation process had to be postponed until Wednesday morning.
Hariyadi explained that the first step would involve retrieving the body from the ravine, followed by carrying it along the hiking trail to the Sembalun route.
Once there, the victim's body will be airlifted by helicopter to Bhayangkara Police Hospital in West Nusa Tenggara for further examination.
The fatal fall occurred near the Cemara Nunggal point on Saturday morning, June 21, while the victim was hiking toward Mount Rinjani's summit with a tour group.
The SAR team located her on Monday (June 23) using a thermal drone. However, according to the drone surveillance, the victim appeared unresponsive.
Hariyadi said the SAR team encountered "extreme and foggy terrain" during the rescue attempt, which significantly hampered their efforts to reach her.
