In a written statement here on Wednesday, he explained that the training will be facilitated by financial institutions, such as state-owned banks, regional banks, and relevant institutions within the Ministry of Cooperatives, including the Revolving Fund Management Institution (LPDB).
He stated that the training will focus on preparing competent human resources and strategies for sustainable cooperative business development.
Juliantono highlighted the importance of utilizing existing assets, whether owned by the village, district, province, or ministry, for cooperative operations, in order to reduce the need for new infrastructure development.
The government has achieved its target of establishing 80 thousand Red and White Village Cooperatives. The next step is to legalize these cooperatives as legal entities at the Ministry of Law, a process expected to be completed by the end of June 2025.
The deputy minister confirmed that all 80 thousand village cooperatives across Indonesia will be simultaneously launched by President Prabowo Subianto on July 19, 2025, in Klaten, Central Java.
The estimated budget to establish the 80 thousand cooperatives is around Rp400 trillion (around US$24.6 billion).
For the initial capital, the government will offer each cooperative a loan ceiling of Rp3 billion (around US$184,993).
He stated that intensive assistance would be provided in preparing proposals and business feasibility studies, which will determine the eligibility of cooperatives to receive financing.
The Indonesian government has envisaged Red and White Village Cooperatives as hubs of economic and social services in village communities, offering savings, loans, and clinic services, among others.
