Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto held a virtual meeting on Sunday to discuss a range of strategic issues ranging from investment to aviation.

According to information posted on the Cabinet Secretariat's Instagram post on Monday, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wiaya stated that the meeting was attended by several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, President Director of PT Dirgantara Indonesia Gita Amperiawan, and President Director of PT Pindad (Persero) Sigit Santosa.

"The meeting discussed various topics such as agriculture, maritime affairs, higher education and science, investment, global situation, as well as shipping and aviation," Wijaya stated.

Earlier, on Sunday afternoon, the president also attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Integrated Electric Vehicle Battery Industry Ecosystem project of the ANTAM-IBC-CBL Consortium in the Artha Industrial Hills (AIH) area, Karawang, West Java.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Minister of Housing and Residential Areas Maruarar Sirait, Governor of West Java Dedi Mulyadi, and Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Wang Lutong.

This battery industry project is a collaboration between PT Aneka Tambang Tbk. (ANTAM), Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC), the CATL, Brunp, and Lygend (CBL) Consortium.

This electric vehicle battery project spans from upstream to downstream, with a total of six sub-projects, five of which are located in East Halmahera and one in Karawang.

As part of the National Strategic Project (PSN), the project's investment is valued at US$5.9 billion, covering 3,023 hectares, with the potential to employ up to eight thousand workers and develop 18 infrastructure projects, including a multifunctional dock.

This project is designed to be environmentally friendly by utilizing a mix of energy sources, including a 2x150-megawatt PLTU (steam power plant), an 80-megawatt gas power plant (PLTG), a 30-megawatt waste heat generator, and 172-megawatt-peak solar power, including 24-megawatt-peak at the Karawang factory.
