“In this case, the KPK has named a suspect with the initials M.C., who served as secretary general of the MPR RI during the 2019–2021 period,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed to ANTARA on Thursday.
Prasetyo did not specify whether Cahyono is the sole suspect in the investigation.
On June 20, the KPK announced it was investigating a new case involving alleged gratification in the procurement of goods and services at the MPR RI.
Following that announcement, the agency began summoning witnesses on June 23. That same day, it revealed that a state official had been identified as a suspect in the case.
The KPK stated that, for now, there is only one suspect, who allegedly accepted nearly Rp17 billion (approximately US$1 million).
