Jakarta (ANTARA) - Special Staff of the Religious Minister for Cooperation and Foreign Relations, Gugun Gumilar, appreciated the golden achievement of diplomacy made by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto with Saudi Arabia's Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (MBS).

The achievement is related to the launch of the inaugural meeting of the Saudi-Indonesian Supreme Coordination Council, a new institutional platform aimed at accelerating cross-sector cooperation and plans for the development of Indonesia's hajj village in Saudi Arabia.

"I appreciate this visit, which resulted in the signing of various business agreements worth around US$27 billion between Indonesian and Saudi Arabian business actors, covering the clean energy, petrochemical, and aviation fuel services sectors," Gumilar said in a statement received here on Sunday.

President Prabowo previously met with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, at the Al-Salam Palace, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday (7/2).

Indonesia and Saudi Arabia emphasize the importance of expanding economic and trade partnerships, so that in the last five years, total bilateral trade has reached around US$31.5 billion, making Saudi Arabia Indonesia's main trading partner in the Gulf region.

In addition, Prabowo's visit also discussed plans for the hajj village program.

Gumilar revealed that President Prabowo had also given his full support to the plan to realize the Hajj village.

"I also participated in planning the meeting of Religious Minister Nasaruddin Umar, Coordinating Minister (for Food) Zulkifli Hasan, and Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani, where they accompanied President Prabowo to meet with partners in Saudi Arabia to discuss the realization of Hajj Village technically," said Gumilar.

The meeting lasted for approximately one hour and became a strategic momentum to strengthen Indonesia's role in organizing the Hajj pilgrimage for years to come.

This step is the government's commitment to providing optimal service for Indonesian pilgrims.

"Insya Allah, President Prabowo has recorded Indonesia's golden diplomacy with Saudi Arabia through its seriousness in realizing the Indonesian hajj village and insya Allah, in the near future we can start realizing it," said Gumilar.
