President Prabowo arrived at the museum at around 10:52 local time, accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, and Deputy Minister of Finance Thomas Djiwandono.
The plenary session in the BRICS Summit series gave President Prabowo the opportunity to speak at the forum right after Chinese Premier Li Qiang finished speaking at the session.
The session discussed key issues regarding international peace, security, and global governance reform.
President Prabowo spoke before world leaders such as Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
It has not been confirmed whether Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the session in person or virtually, following the ongoing arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) against him, Kremlin foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov said (5/25).
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, United Arab Emirates President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ), and Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi are also on the agenda.
Following the speeches session, the summit continued with reports from national security advisers and a luncheon focused on continuing discussions around global governance reform.
