Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Cooperatives has begun intensive training to improve the capacity of human resources within the pilot Red and White Village Cooperatives.

Ahmad Zabadi, the ministry's secretary, stated that the training is part of the government's efforts to improve the capabilities of cooperative administrators so that cooperatives can truly become driving forces for the rural economy.

Zabadi delivered the statement at the opening of the Human Resources Capacity Building and Institutional Strengthening Training for the pilot Red and White Village Cooperatives in Bekasi, West Java, on Tuesday.

The secretary explained that the training equips cooperative administrators with a range of essential skills, including management, entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and modern cooperative practices.

"However, this requires multi-stakeholder collaboration between the central and regional governments, between the government and the business world, and between cooperatives themselves within a mutually reinforcing and strengthening business ecosystem," he noted in an official statement received here.

Meanwhile, Destry Anna Sari, Deputy for Talent Development and Cooperative Competitiveness at the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, stated that a total of 100 administrators from 19 districts and cities across four provinces participated in the offline training. Meanwhile, another 888 administrators participated online.

"The total number of administrators for the 147 pilot Red and White Village Cooperatives that have been designated is 1,025 people," she noted.

The 100 administrators participating in offline training will also undergo a competency certification test on July 17 at the Bekasi Vocational Training and Productivity Center of the Manpower Ministry.

She stated that the training and certification are strategic steps to improve the capacity and professionalism of future cooperative administrators.

Agung Nur Rohmad, Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development at the Manpower Ministry, stated that the training is designed to support bureaucratic reform to create more professional, transparent, and member-oriented cooperative management.

"We see this as a very potential opportunity to boost the economy, which will directly have a positive impact on reducing unemployment," he remarked.

He explained that the training adopts a vocational approach, covering material on preparing the Cooperative Revenue and Expense Budget (RAPBK), utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and managing cooperative business operations.
