Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs is preparing digitalization support, including high-speed Internet services and digital training, for the Red and White Village Cooperatives program.

Communications and Digital Minister Meutya Hafid said that her ministry will ensure reliable and equitable access to digital networks in priority areas of the program, while strengthening digital literacy by offering systematic training to the cooperatives’ human resources.

“This assistance is provided collaboratively with local digital communities and regional communication offices to meet each village’s needs,” she added in a statement issued here on Monday.

The ministry is also implementing a data-driven strategy by regularly mapping key areas.

To maintain service quality, it routinely conducts network audits to anticipate traffic spikes and increases in data demand.

Furthermore, to strengthen the digitalization of cooperatives, the ministry is coordinating with the Ministry of Cooperatives to integrate its digital training platform, Digitalent Academy, with the cooperative super app that is currently under development.

This integration is meant to support cooperative members’ data management, cashless transactions, and real-time monitoring of cooperative performance.

“We focus not only on training, but also on building a digital ecosystem that facilitates modern and participatory cooperative management,” Hafid added.

According to the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, the Red and White Village Cooperatives can be an ideal model for village economy digitalization. The cooperatives combine basic services, logistics distribution, financial transactions, and digital training.

President Prabowo Subianto officially launched around 80 thousand village cooperatives established nationwide under the Red and White Village Cooperatives program in Klaten district, Central Java, on Monday.

The cooperatives are envisaged as hubs of economic and social services in village communities, offering savings, loans, and clinic services, among others.
