“This program reflects the ministry’s vision of making the creative economy a new engine of growth,” the ministry’s deputy for digital creativity and technology, Muhammad Neil El Himam, said here on Saturday.
The ministry signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with tech-based learning platform CAKAP here on July 18, 2025, under which one thousand MSME players will get free digital training on business and management, career development, languages, media and creative fields, and technology.
“We hope this initiative can expand access to relevant and adaptive training for creative MSMEs across the country, while strengthening the national digital creative ecosystem,” Himam said.
The training program will run for three months and will include regular monitoring and evaluation. Each module is designed to address real challenges and enhance MSME competitiveness in the digital economy era.
The ministry’s acting director of applications, Wahyu Wicaksono, said the partnership with CAKAP was formed due to the company’s structured learning modules and strong collaboration track record.
PT CAKAP’s chief financial officer, Jonathan Mario Dharmasoeka, welcomed the partnership, calling it an important step toward digitalizing MSMEs in Indonesia.
“We believe this training will be a real contribution to strengthening the capacity of creative economy players, especially MSMEs, so they are better prepared to face the digital era,” he said.
The training is designed to not only address short-term skill needs but is also a part of the ministry’s long-term strategy to build a strong foundation for Indonesia’s creative economy.
With improved digital literacy and access to quality training, creative MSMEs are expected to become more adaptive, innovative, and capable of penetrating global markets.
