During the kick-off of the Free Health Checkups (CKG) at School program, Hafid stated that the health screening provides insight into students' health, particularly their vision. She stated that the health problem is caused by excessive screen time, a common issue in this era of digitalization.
The minister also advised parents to monitor their children's gadget use to help maintain eye health.
The CKG at School program is one of the quick-win initiatives by President Prabowo Subianto. It reflects the government's commitment to providing healthcare for the population to build a strong generation by 2045.
"The Free Health Checkup at School program target, Insha Allah, will be met, reaching 53 million (students) from Sabang to Merauke. No student will be left behind," she remarked.
As of August 1, 2025, at least 16 million people have participated in the free health check program, which was launched on February 10.
The government aims to reach 281 million Indonesians through the program, including 53.8 million students across 282 thousand education units, ranging from elementary to high schools, madrasas, and People’s Schools.

Middle school students receive 15 types of screenings, including tests for thalassemia and hemoglobin levels, while high school students undergo 14 screenings, including reproductive health.
