“Especially in Lampung 1 electoral district, I’ve visited almost every area. Indeed, waste management here requires serious attention and ongoing support,” she informed here on Wednesday.
She further said she believes that the management of waste and issues related to waste is not solely the government’s task, but a shared responsibility of the community, the government, and business actors.
“I heard earlier that there are around 10 waste processing facilities (TPS) at the provincial level, as well as several final waste processing facilities (TPA). This waste processing must be maximized,” she added.
She said that the first thing that must be done is to raise public awareness so that people do not consider the waste issue as the government’s sole responsibility.
“It’s not like that. This is a collective task, our shared task,” she stressed.
On that occasion, she also handed over assistance from the Environment Ministry, including garbage collection motorbikes, composters, trash bins, and other equipment, to support efforts to make Bandarlampung city greener and cleaner and increase awareness on waste management.
In the meantime, the regional secretary of Bandarlampung city, Iwan Gunawan, welcomed the assistance from the Ministry of Environment, such as waste containers, composters, biopore tools, and waste baskets.
“This assistance is very useful in supporting better environmental management in our city,” he said.
