During a consolidation meeting attended by governors and deputy governors in Denpasar, Bali, on Friday, he emphasized that the success of the program will rely heavily on the active participation and contributions from local governments.
“The President pioneered the Red and White Village Cooperatives program—it really is his idea. Mr. President has outlined directives to ministers to carry out the program,” Hasan affirmed, noting that its optimal implementation is necessary for Indonesia to advance.
The minister underlined that the program is one of President Prabowo’s community empowerment initiatives that are designed to help people overcome challenges.
“The President insists on empowering the people because he is well aware of the problems they are facing,” he said, calling on all governors to fully support the central government’s development agenda.
Hasan added that the program also signals that Indonesia is returning to and progressing on the right track after a long period of stagnation caused by lack of political will among officials.
He then stressed the importance of following the example of China, South Korea, and Singapore in steering national development to address both current and future challenges to ensure long-term progress.
He reiterated that President Prabowo envisions the Red and White Village Cooperatives as a strategic tool to shift people’s mindset, encourage greater self-reliance, and reduce dependence on aid.
Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Minister Yandri Susanto, Cooperatives Minister Budi Arie Setiadi, Trade Minister Budi Santoso, Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Rini Widyantini, and Law Minister Supratman Andi Agtas also attended the national meeting.
The meeting was also joined by the governors or deputy governors of several regions, including Central Sulawesi, Maluku, Jambi, East Nusa Tenggara, West Sumatra, North Kalimantan, Papua, North Sumatra, Gorontalo, Aceh, East Kalimantan, and North Maluku.
