“Hopefully, the broadcasting industry will always be a partner for parents and educators in creating a healthy and safe ecosystem for the growth and development of Indonesian children,” she said at the 2025 Child-Friendly Broadcasting Awards event here on Friday.
Fauzi lauded the efforts of broadcasters to air programs that are not only entertaining, but also educational and inspiring.
She further said that mass media is one of the main references for children and adolescents in understanding the world. It also shapes their behavior and perspectives about their surroundings, she added.
Therefore, she said, the government is striving to ensure Indonesian children have access to safe, inspiring, and meaningful content.
“The ministry continues to encourage the creation of a safe, healthy, and educational ecosystem for children, including in the digital and broadcasting spheres,” she added.
Fauzi reaffirmed her ministry’s commitment to working together with the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) to ensure that children and adolescents get the protection they need.
Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025 on the Governance of Electronic System Operations in Child Protection has been enacted to protect children in the digital space, she noted.
The minister emphasized that parents must ensure that children and adolescents watch content that is safe, educational, and aligned with the nation’s cultural values.
“Protection is not only about keeping children away from danger, but also about creating an environment that supports their healthy, active, and social development,” she said.
