Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has launched public consultations to refine the Draft White Paper on the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Roadmap and the Draft Concept of AI Ethics Guidelines.

"The public consultation aims to gather feedback and input from relevant stakeholders," the ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

The white paper forms part of the government's broader effort to accelerate the adoption of AI in an inclusive, sustainable, and responsible manner.

A total of 443 representatives from government institutions, academia, industry, civil society organizations, and the media have participated in the AI roadmap task force and contributed to its development.

The document is intended to serve as a strategic foundation for future policies on AI governance and utilization.

In parallel, the government has drafted AI Ethics Guidelines to complement existing ethical frameworks, building on Ministerial Circular No. 9 of 2023 on Artificial Intelligence Ethics.

Through the consultation process, the government hopes to refine both the AI roadmap and the ethics guidelines into a comprehensive framework to guide the country's AI development.

Feedback can be submitted to the ministry until August 22. Members of the public can participate by downloading the draft documents — including the AI roadmap, the ethics guidelines, and the response submission template — from the ministry's official channels.
