"We will enhance the facilitators' capacity and knowledge regarding cooperatives and business operations," said Nugroho Setijo Nagoro, the ministry's Director General of Village and Rural Development, on Thursday.
He made the statement during the Dissemination of Information on the Regulation of the Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Number 10 of 2025 concerning the mechanism for obtaining village heads’ approval for the financing of Red and White Village Cooperatives.
According to Nagoro, the village facilitators will provide daily assistance to the cooperatives to ensure smooth operations of their business units. The effort also aims to promote professional management of village cooperatives.
On the occasion, he also urged cooperative managers to take advantage of training programs provided by the Ministry of Cooperatives, which he said are essential for ensuring effective operations.
Earlier, the ministry issued the regulation outlining various provisions related to the financing of the Red and White Village Cooperatives program.
One stipulation allows village funds to be used to help repay loans if a village cooperative is unable to meet its installments.
President Prabowo Subianto officially launched around 80,000 village cooperatives under the program in Klaten, Central Java, on July 21.
The cooperatives are envisioned as hubs for economic and social services in village communities, offering savings, loans, and health clinic services, among others.
