"In the midst of global political and economic conflicts, trade and tariff wars, Indonesia's economy still managed to grow 5.12 percent, and experts believe this will continue to increase ahead," he said at the parliamentary complex here on Friday.
Indonesia's investment realization in the first semester of 2025 had reached Rp942 trillion or around US$$57.77 billion, an increase of 13.6 percent from the previous year, he noted.
The investment has also absorbed 1.2 million Indonesian workers, he added.
Prabowo acknowledged that past inconsistencies in implementing the 1945 Constitution led to economic distortions, slow distribution of wealth, and a situation where economic growth only benefited a few.
He pointed out that despite an average economic growth of 5 percent over the last seven years, it was not reflected in the lives of ordinary people. He cited problems such as hunger among children, struggling farmers and fishers, a lack of decent housing, unappreciated teachers, and inadequate healthcare access.
"However, when we consistently implemented our Constitution over the past 299 days, I can say that we have made quite significant progress," Prabowo said.
As part of the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of Indonesia's independence, the country convened the People Consultative Assembly (MPR) Annual Session alongside the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) on Friday morning.
As part of the session, President Prabowo delivered a speech outlining the performance reports of state agencies and a state address in commemoration of Independence Day.
