Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto expressed regret over the arrest of Deputy Manpower Minister Immanuel Ebenezer in a sting operation (OTT) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi confirmed.

"Yes, (President Prabowo) deeply regrets it. Especially since warnings (against corruption activities) have already been given repeatedly," Minister Hadi remarked during a press briefing at the Presidential Palace Complex here on Thursday.

Hadi emphasized that one of the main programs of President Prabowo’s administration is a strong commitment to eradicating corruption.

According to him, the fight against corruption must start with government officials themselves.

President Prabowo has repeatedly reminded all cabinet members to uphold the spirit of anti-corruption in carrying out their daily duties, Hadi explained.

"Repeatedly, he has delivered this message, especially to all cabinet members, to maintain the spirit of fighting corruption while performing their daily responsibilities," Hadi stressed.

In addition, Prabowo has also urged the Red and White Cabinet to be cautious when making public statements so as not to cause unrest among the public.

"These two points are constantly being reminded by the President to all of us," Hadi added.

The KPK stated that the sting operation that led to the arrest of Deputy Minister Immanuel Ebenezer was related to allegations of extortion in the processing of occupational safety and health (K3) certifications.

KPK Deputy Chairperson Fitroh Rohcahyanto confirmed on Thursday that the alleged extortion was committed by Ebenezer against several companies. In total, 10 other individuals were arrested along with Ebenezer.

The KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the status of those detained. This marks the fifth such operation in 2025.
