KIKT Deputy Head Jona Widhagdo Putri said in a written statement received here on Saturday that the cooperation would not be limited to trade, but would also cover supply chain development, strengthening the halal industry, and creating mutually beneficial long-term opportunities.
The commitment was highlighted during the “China (Xinjiang)–Indonesia Economic and Trade Exchange Conference” held in Jakarta on Thursday, August 21, and organized by KIKT together with the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC).
Putri noted that the partnership between Indonesia and Xinjiang is based on mutual respect and reciprocity. Both sides also share the characteristic of having large Muslim populations, which she said strengthens the foundation of cooperation.
She pointed out that Xinjiang’s industrial strengths in agriculture, logistics, energy, and health are in line with the priorities of President Prabowo Subianto’s government.
KIKT, she added, is committed to facilitating dialogue, bridging standards and regulations, and strengthening the private sector’s role in enhancing Indonesia-China relations.
“With KIKT as the motor and mutual trust as the guiding compass, we can move forward beyond the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision toward a resilient, inclusive, and prosperous future for both countries,” she remarked.
At the same event, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Wang Lutong said bilateral trade between Indonesia and China reached US$62.96 billion in the January–May 2025 period, an increase of 11 percent compared with the same period last year.
He expressed optimism that the cooperation would continue to expand and underlined Xinjiang’s commitment to advancing its openness toward East Asia and Southeast Asia.
Investment Promotion Deputy at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming, Nurul Ichwan, also highlighted the importance of strategic cooperation with China in areas such as investment and technology transfer, which had helped Indonesia sustain economic growth during the COVID-19 pandemic condition.
He added that the government remains committed to supporting investors through permits, industrial estates, special economic zones, and other incentives.
