According to an official press release issued Thursday, Sjamsoeddin and his delegation were welcomed by Australian officials upon arrival at Canberra Airport.
“This working visit is part of the 2+2 Foreign and Defense Ministers’ Meeting between the two countries,” said Head of the Ministry’s Information and Communications Bureau Brigadier General Frega Ferdinand Wenas Inkiriwang.
Inkiriwang noted that the agenda includes not only defense discussions but also broader cooperation plans aimed at enhancing diplomatic ties.
He did not disclose specific details of the defense cooperation discussed.
Inkiriwang expressed confidence that the meeting would strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Australia.
“This visit also reflects Indonesia’s active role in promoting regional peace and stability,” he added.
