At the launch of the fourth Result-Based Contribution (RBC) Investment Plan and the third phase of the fund in Jakarta on Thursday, Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni emphasized the government’s commitment to involving the public in forest protection and achieving the 2030 FOLU Net Sink target.
“We hope all parties, including indigenous communities, local NGOs, universities, youth movements, and other social initiatives, can access this Small Grant program,” Antoni said.
In this third phase, the BPLDH will distribute Rp5–6 billion to environmental activists. Proposals were open from August 28 to September 1, 2025.
The initiative recognizes the important efforts of grassroots individuals and community groups in protecting the environment and conserving forests, contributing to the goal of absorbing more emissions than produced in the forestry and other land use (FOLU) sector by 2030.
The funding includes contributions from the Norwegian Government’s RBC for emission reduction performance in the forestry sector, totaling US$216 million, allocated across four RBC phases.
Since August 2024, the Community Fund for the Environment has already disbursed over Rp12 billion to 383 beneficiaries nationwide, including individuals, forest farmer groups, Kalpataru recipients, NGOs, independent forestry extension workers, and other environmental activists.
“The point is to ensure our forests remain sustainable. Development must continue, and community welfare must be guaranteed,” Antoni concluded.
