Jakarta (ANTARA) - Member of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives (DPR), Dini Rahmania, stated that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, which will be formed after the revision of the law, must participate in evaluating the 2025 Hajj.

According to her, the evaluation must be held soon so that the Ministry, which will be fully operational in 2026, can anticipate any weaknesses from the 2025 Hajj.

"Therefore, we propose a comprehensive evaluation meeting be held before departure, during departure, during, and after the implementation," Rahmania said in Jakarta on Friday.

She added that the evaluation should cover transportation services, accommodation, meals, worship guidance, pilgrim protection, manifests, sharia regulations, as well as the budget.

This is crucial so that valid and accountable information can serve as a basis for policy improvements.

"Implementation of Hajj this year was deemed not to be in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Commission VIII of the DPR," she said.

Rahmania also assessed that the revision of the law will strengthen the role of the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) in ensuring the sustainability and optimization of Hajj funds.

She said BPKH's performance in safeguarding the congregation's funds deserves appreciation, but the challenges in the future are greater and require strong transparency and accountability.

She stated that Commission VIII is primarily focused on ensuring that services and the implementation of Hajj are increasingly comfortable, orderly, and of high quality.

"All improvements must be oriented toward the interests and comfort of pilgrims, so they can perform worship solemnly and have a better Hajj experience," she said.
