Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) reported that 16 bus stops were damaged and vandalized during protests in Jakarta on Friday (August 29).

“There are 16 bus stops that were damaged and vandalized,” Transjakarta Head of Public Relations and CSR Ayu Wardhani told reporters in Jakarta on Saturday.

The damaged bus stops include Bendungan Hilir, Kwitang, Kampung Melayu, Kramat Sentiong, Bidara Cina, Cililitan, Semanggi, Petamburan, and Widya Candra Telkomsel.

Others are Jatinegara, Kejaksaan Agung, Matraman Baru, Pemuda Pramuka, Masjid Agung, Non-BRT Gelora Bung Karno 1, and Non-BRT Polda Metro Jaya 1.

In addition, Transjakarta recorded six bus stops that were set on fire by unidentified individuals during the unrest. They are Polda Metro Jaya, Senen Toyota Rangga, Sentral Senen, Senayan Bank DKI, Gerbang Pemuda, and Bundaran Senayan.

Transjakarta said all service updates would be available on the TJ: Transjakarta app and its official social media channels.

The company also urged the public to help safeguard public facilities so they can continue to serve many people.

Meanwhile, Transjakarta confirmed that Corridor 11 Pulo Gebang–Kampung Melayu and Mikrotrans services have resumed operations following Friday’s protest.
