The policy applies to all ITB campuses in Bandung, Jakarta, Cirebon, and Jatinangor, West Java.
“This decision was made by taking into account the latest situation related to security and comfort in carrying out academic activities,” said ITB Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Irwan Meilano in Bandung on Sunday.
The regulation was issued through Circular No. 1048/IT1.B04/DA/2025 on the Implementation of Learning Activities at ITB during the First Week of Lectures, from September 1 to 5, 2025.
“The implementation of online learning is expected to ensure the achievement of course learning outcomes (CLOs) and graduate learning outcomes (GLOs) effectively,” Irwan said.
He added that the policy will be continuously evaluated and adjusted if necessary.
“We hope that all members of the academic community can continue their learning activities in the best way possible, while prioritizing safety and comfort,” Irwan said.
In recent days, demonstrations in several regions of Indonesia have turned violent.
In Bandung, damage was reported to assets of the People’s Consultative Assembly on Jalan Diponegoro, a Sambara restaurant, a house on Jalan Gempol, two bank offices on Jalan Ir. H. Djuanda, the West Java Regional House of Representatives building, 10 motorcycles, and other food stalls.
