Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Police (Polri) is collaborating with the intelligence agencies to hunt down the main perpetrators behind recent riots in various regions.

Involving Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS) and the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), the joint effort follows a series of demonstrations that have drawn national attention and concern.

"We will certainly work together with our colleagues from the TNI, BAIS, BIN, and all elements that can provide information so we can resolve this," said National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo in Jakarta on Monday.

He added that the police are continuing to gather facts to build a complete picture of the incidents and identify those who organized them.

The recent protests were part of a growing wave of public dissent in Indonesia. Many of these demonstrations have focused on government policy, economic issues, and social justice.

While the majority of protesters have been peaceful, some demonstrations have resulted in confrontations and property damage, prompting the government to take a firmer stance.

General Listyo emphasized that maintaining a conducive and stable national atmosphere is crucial for Indonesia's development and the welfare of its citizens.

He stated that the situation has now returned to normal, thanks to the close cooperation between the police, military, and the public.

"Certainly, the support from religious leaders is one of the factors that can accelerate the creation of a conducive situation.

We will continue to work together to ensure everything remains secure," he concluded, highlighting the role of community support in preserving national stability.
