“This achievement proves that when our MSMEs receive proper mentoring and are guided to meet global buyers, they can compete with major business players,” Trade Minister Budi Santoso said in a statement.
The ministry, through its export-oriented program, has supported 110 MSMEs in sectors such as fashion, crafts, furniture, home décor, food and beverages, and spices, helping them expand into international markets.
From January to August, the ministry facilitated 462 business-matching activities, including 312 pitching sessions between MSMEs and Indonesian trade representatives overseas, and 150 meetings with potential foreign buyers.

These efforts produced confirmed purchase orders worth $55.95 million and potential transactions valued at $34.95 million, the ministry said.
In August alone, Indonesian MSMEs booked $861,000 in confirmed transactions through the program. Santoso said the monthly figure underscored growing global demand for domestic products.
Director General of National Export Development Fajarini Puntodewi said the results reflected strong coordination between trade representatives, MSME mentoring institutions and businesses.
She said the ministry would continue helping MSMEs access global markets through certification, logistics and financing support.
Fajarini also highlighted the ministry’s focus on gender inclusivity, stressing its commitment to strengthening the role of Indonesian women entrepreneurs in international trade.
