The ministry's director for headmasters, monitoring boards, and educators, Iwan Junaedi, said in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Sunday, that the committee is not only composed of parents of the students, but it can also involve people who have a concern for education.
The school committee is crucial in designing the best program to aid the learning process, he noted. Hence, he encourages parents and guardians to regularly meet to discuss real measures for the school's development.
The meeting can serve as a forum to strengthen collaboration among parents and schools to create a conducive learning environment.
Moreover, the committee also aids in the new student enrollment process, by ensuring that the process is in line with the rules.
He stressed that the committee is not there to demand levies, but to collaborate so education can be better for the future of the children.
He is confident that strong collaboration among schools, parents, and the public through the committee can boost the education ecosystem as a whole.
Junaedi expected that the school committee network across regions, including East Kalimantan, can improve education quality. He expected that the initiative can inspire people to participate.
"Eventually, this collaboration aims to create Indonesia's golden generation in the future," Junaedi said.
