"With two million MSMEs receiving accelerated KUR assistance, and assuming each business employs at least two workers, more than four million jobs could be created if the program is launched and disbursed promptly,” Coordinating Minister Muhaimin Iskandar said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
This accelerated KUR distribution is targeted to be provided to 2.3 million MSMEs by 2025.
He stated that accelerating the distribution of KUR to MSMEs is crucial to increase employment in the MSME sector and reduce unemployment.
Therefore, Iskandar encouraged all banks and related parties to accelerate the distribution of KUR to increase domestic economic growth through MSMEs.
"I ask banks involved in distributing KUR for MSMEs, and parties involved in implementing this program, to closely monitor the President's economic policy package," the minister remarked.
Acceleration in KUR distribution is also carried out to support the government in accelerating economic growth through the 8+4+5 economic stimulus.
The government previously released an 8+4+5 economic stimulus package consisting of 8 acceleration programs in 2025, 4 programs that will be continued in 2026, and 5 programs for workforce absorption.
Iskandar assured that the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment will work hard to ensure that this economic stimulus is effective in alleviating poverty and absorbing labor.
