Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Deputy Minister for Village and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, Ahmad Riza Patria, emphasized that a collaborative octahelix framework is crucial to accelerating stunting reduction, particularly in rural areas.

Patria, popularly known as Ariza, said the framework brings together central and local governments, academics, businesses, media, community groups, and technology innovators to ensure integrated and effective stunting prevention efforts.

“This collaboration will speed up our progress because stunting can only be addressed if we work together,” he said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The statement followed an inter-ministerial meeting on Tuesday, focused on accelerating stunting reduction in villages.

Patria stressed that tackling stunting is a major investment in preparing Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045. He added that reducing stunting is a national priority requiring concrete actions and cross-sectoral synergy.

He urged 75,256 villages nationwide to become solution hubs by leveraging programs such as Investing in Nutrition and Early Years (INEY), strengthening village health cadres, and utilizing village data for program planning.

He also encouraged the adoption of the electronic Human Development Worker (e-HDW) platform to monitor service coverage and inform policy decisions at the village level.

Patria called for the meeting to produce concrete, implementable follow-up actions that will have a direct impact on stunting reduction.

“Let us use this forum as momentum to strengthen joint efforts toward a healthy, smart, and high-quality Indonesian generation,” he said.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Deputy Minister of Population and Family Development Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka, Deputy for Community Engagement Sukaryo Teguh Santoso, Director General of Village and Rural Development Nugroho Setijo Nagoro, as well as senior staff from the National Population and Family Planning Agency and the Directorate General of Village and Rural Development, Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions.
