Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KPPPA) and the Ministry of Social Affairs monitored the implementation of Integrated Sekolah Rakyat (People's School) 2, in Banyuwangi, to ensure the fulfillment of rights and protection for children.

"This dialogue will serve as the basis for integrating the fulfillment of children's rights and special protections during learning at Sekolah Rakyat, thus making them child-friendly Sekolah Rakyat," said a Special Staff to the Minister of PPPA, Zahrotun Nihayah, during a visit to the school.

In a statement, here on Thursday, she said the development of child-friendly Sekolah Rakyat would refer to child-friendly standards that have been developed by the ministry for various services to fulfill rights and special protection for children.

KPPPA supports the Fast Best Results Program (PHTC) for Sekolah Rakyat by emphasizing the importance of child protection and gender equality.

Nihayah said that the presence of the Sekolah Rakyat is not only to eradicate poverty, but also to ensure that every child has the right to education, health, care, and protection from violence and discrimination.

"So, children can grow up to be a superior and empowered generation," she said.

During the visit, KPPPA and the Ministry of Social Affairs discussed with the principal, teachers, foster parents, and students of Sekolah Rakyat to obtain an overview of the situation and conditions at the school.

Nihayah believes that the discussion is important to determine the necessary intervention for students at the school.

KPPPA also held discussions with the Banyuwangi District Government to discuss the findings at the school.
