Speaking at the High-Level Conference on Palestine and the Two-State Solution held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on Monday, President Prabowo reiterated Indonesia’s unwavering support for a two-state solution as the only path toward lasting peace between Israel and Palestine.
“We condemn all violence against innocent civilians. Therefore, Indonesia once again reiterates its commitment to the two-state solution in the Palestine problem. Only this two-state solution will lead to peace,” President Prabowo declared.
Prabowo also urged UN member states to take concrete steps by formally recognizing Palestine as an independent state with statehood.
“Recognition must mean a real chance to watch lasting peace. It must be a real peace for all sides, for all parties,” he stated.
Delivering his first-ever speech at the UN headquarters, President Prabowo also addressed the recently adopted New York Declaration, which was passed by the UN General Assembly on September 12, 2025.
“The New York Declaration has provided a just and peaceful pathway toward lasting peace,” he mentioned.
Concluding his speech from the UN podium, President Prabowo delivered an urgent call to unite towards peace.
“Peace now. Peace immediately. We need peace,” he urged, drawing strong applause from the assembly.
The High-Level Conference on Palestine and the Two-State Solution is part of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The summit was co-initiated by France and Saudi Arabia, represented respectively by French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
