Metro (ANTARA) - Population and Family Development Minister Wihaji, concurrently head of the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), stated that there are currently 3,143 Child Care Centers or Tamasya operating across Indonesia that offer childcare services.

"Tamasya provides a solution to several challenges faced by the workforce, particularly working parents who struggle to balance their jobs and childcare responsibilities, often forcing them to resign," said Minister Wihaji in Metro City, Lampung, on Thursday.

"These 3,143 childcare centers, or Taman Asuh Sayang Anak, are initiated by various ministries and the private sector. Some are even managed by corporations or State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN)," he added.

Wihaji explained that his visit to the Al-Fatih Daycare Center (Tamasya) aimed to ensure an increase in its capacity, as a strategic effort to enhance early childhood care services in Metro City.

"To mothers who are struggling to care for their children: Please entrust them to this childcare center. The staff are well-trained, and the facilities are child-friendly. This way, working parents can continue their work without compromising their children's development,” he said.

Through Tamasya, two key objectives can be achieved: providing effective early childhood services and reducing stunting. These efforts are crucial to ensuring a high-quality future generation.

"We must not allow our next generation to grow up with below-average intelligence, low height and weight that lead to stunting," he emphasized.

According to him, the most important goal is to ensure standardized early childhood care services so that no child suffers from stunting.

“The government will continue to work toward ensuring that, from the first 1,000 days of life, infants, toddlers, adolescents, and the elderly receive proper care and support through various programs,” he concluded.
