Speaking in Blora District on Tuesday, Head of the Blora Police SPPG Denny Daniswara highlighted that the special kitchen is located at the police headquarters complex and has reached 28 schools since it began operating on Friday (October 10).
“Since Friday, we have been serving 2,515 program beneficiaries at 28 schools, from early childhood education and kindergartens up to senior high schools,” he pointed out.
According to him, the police-run SPPG is producing 1,400 meals in large portions and 1,100 in smaller portions every day. “It is possible that the number of recipients will rise,” he added.
Daniswara further explained that the MBG kitchen is supported by 50 individuals working from morning until afternoon.
“Of that number, 47 people are tasked with the cooking process and operational matters, while the other three are in charge of administrative and supporting duties,” he said.
He assured the public that the SPPG produces and distributes nutritious meals in line with food quality and safety standards set by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).
“Our menus have met the standards. On Monday (October 13), for example, we offered beef tongseng, a dish of mixed green beans and carrots, fried tofu, and fresh fruits,” the SPPG chief affirmed.
Furthermore, he noted that the kitchen had obtained a hygiene and sanitation certificate from the Blora Health Office and would soon undergo an environmental health inspection.
Blora Police Chief Senior Commissioner Wawan Andi Susanto, for his part, emphasized that the SPPG was established to support the MBG program, a national priority initiative envisioned by President Prabowo Subianto to boost people’s nutritional intake.
“This SPPG serves as a central facility tasked with preparing, cooking, and distributing nutritious meals in accordance with BGN standards,” he said, noting that 26 police-run MBG kitchens had been set up across Central Java.
Launched in January this year, MBG is one of President Prabowo’s flagship programs. Its primary objective is to improve Indonesia’s human resources quality through nutrition fulfillment for schoolchildren, breastfeeding mothers, pregnant women, and toddlers.
As of October, the national program has catered to over 30 million residents nationwide, with support from more than 10 thousand SPPGs. The broader target is to reach 83 million people this year.
