Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto stated that around 50,000 schools have received a total of 288,000 interactive flat panels (IFPs) from the government to support the digital learning process.

"This year, we will provide one 75-inch interactive flat panel to each school," he said at a plenary cabinet meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

He noted that the provision of IFPs is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen educational digitalization across Indonesia, including in remote areas with limited access and teaching resources.

According to the President, a total of 288,000 IFPs will be distributed this year, containing thousands of items of educational content.

He further said that the government will employ the best teachers to teach remotely from a central studio in Jakarta, allowing schools in remote areas to be connected.

The government is also preparing a low-cost connectivity technology to ensure schools in areas with limited internet access can remain connected to the digital learning system.

President Prabowo stated that next year, the number of IFPs per school will be increased to four, with an additional two IFPs planned for each school by 2027.

He affirmed that he had received a report from the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education indicating that children’s enthusiasm for attending school has increased, partly due to the digitalization of the learning process.

"I think this is essential. We must focus on the most important investment for our people—investing in our children, our human resources," he said.

Monday’s plenary cabinet meeting also marked the first year of President Prabowo's administration since his inauguration on October 20, 2024.

During the meeting, the President highlighted several achievements of government programs, including the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, which has reached 36.7 million beneficiaries.
