Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) is building Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPGs) in Yogyakarta to support its Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.

Commodore I Nyoman Suadnyana, head of the TNI AU Information Office, said Adisutjipto Air Base personnel are carrying out the construction and overseeing two kitchens, which will strengthen free nutritious meals distribution.

Suadnyana assured the facilities would be completed soon and, once operational, will produce thousands of meals for schools around the airbase.

Adisutjipto Air Base Commander Commodore Toto Ginanto said in a press release that SPPG kitchen construction is proceeding smoothly.

He expressed hope the kitchens would help the government expand the MBG program nationwide.

"Through these kitchens, we want to take an active role in ensuring healthy and balanced nutrition for the nation’s next generation," he said.
