Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf announced the plan on Friday after visiting the Jakarta-based London School of Public Relations (LSPR). The ministry will adapt LSPR’s high-standard educational model across its social centers.
LSPR provides a disability-friendly learning environment with modern facilities and trained teachers, enabling students with disabilities to compete professionally. The ministry plans to implement a similar model in 30 social centers nationwide.
The curriculum aligns with the ministry’s policy, which emphasizes empowerment through social rehabilitation. LSPR also offers skills training, including a practical kitchen and culinary laboratory, to help students produce marketable products.
Yusuf said the collaboration will focus on teacher exchanges, adaptive curriculum development, and capacity building for the ministry’s educators, preparing them to better serve students with disabilities.
He added that the program aims not only to provide technical knowledge but also to boost students’ confidence and independence before entering the workforce.
"This initiative is expected to accelerate equitable access to higher education and vocational training for people with disabilities in Indonesia," Yusuf said.
