Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Manpower Minister Yassierli said the 2026 provincial minimum wage (UMP) formula will take into account decent living standards, as required by a Constitutional Court (MK) ruling.

Speaking at a media briefing in Jakarta on Tuesday, he said the process of drafting the regulation is ongoing and involves social dialogue with stakeholders.

"The National Wage Council (Depenas) is still working on it. We've received many inputs from labor unions and worker associations. All of these will contribute to finalizing the regulation," Yassierli said, without disclosing the projected increase.

He explained that, under the MK ruling, the UMP formula must consider decent living standards, inflation, economic growth, and other relevant indices.

Yassierli expressed hope that the 2026 UMP formula would be finalized in November.

"It is still October. Our target, following the usual timeline, is to release the formula in November," he said.

Indonesian Trade Union Confederation (KSPI) and Labor Party President Said Iqbal has proposed an 8.5–10.5 percent increase in the 2026 minimum wage.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto earlier said the government is still reviewing the proposal, following a 6.5 percent UMP increase in 2025, which he said reflected the government's performance over the past year.
