“The Aceh government is ready to collaborate and open opportunities for investors in the livestock sector,” Muzakir said in a statement on Wednesday.
The statement followed his meeting with the Northern Territory’s Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, Gerard Maley, in Jakarta on Monday.
Muzakir said the proposed collaboration in cattle breeding and agricultural development is aimed at boosting Aceh’s economic growth. “We have land ready for cattle breeding and development,” he affirmed.
He added that beyond livestock, there is strong potential for agricultural cooperation to support the government’s food self-sufficiency programs, particularly in rice and corn cultivation.
“Another promising commodity is Acehnese coffee from Central Aceh, which is of premium quality and has long been exported abroad,” he noted.
Muzakir expressed hope that Minister Maley would visit Aceh to observe firsthand the region’s agricultural and livestock potential.
Maley welcomed the proposal, stating that his office is prepared to supply beef cattle or breeding stock to Aceh. “We may send our officials to Aceh so they can see firsthand the opportunities this cooperation could bring,” he said.
