“There is no hesitation in developing the IKN. Every step is directed toward achieving the target of making Nusantara the Political Capital by 2028, as instructed by the President,” Hadimuljono said in a statement Thursday.
He said the authority continues to work with optimism and transparency, ensuring each project delivers tangible benefits for local communities.
Entering the first year of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s administration, the capital’s development has shown significant progress.
Presidential Regulation No. 12 of 2025 on the National Medium-Term Development Plan reaffirmed Prabowo’s commitment to continue and accelerate the project as a symbol of balanced national growth.

Another regulation, Presidential Regulation No. 79 of 2025, outlines the 2025 Government Work Plan, setting Nusantara’s official designation as Indonesia’s Political Capital by 2028. It also directs the relocation of civil servants and the construction of key infrastructure to support the transition.
The Nusantara Capital Authority said ongoing development reflects Prabowo’s five national priorities: economic stability, social welfare, education and human resource development, food security, and public health.
In economic terms, the project is financed through a mix of state funding, public-private partnerships (PPP), and private investment. Prabowo has approved Rp48.8 trillion ($2.9 billion) for the 2025–2029 period, supported by domestic and international investors.
So far, the authority has secured Rp225.02 trillion ($13.5 billion) in commitments — Rp66.3 trillion ($3.9 billion) from private investors and Rp158.7 trillion ($9.5 billion) through PPPs for roads, utility tunnels, and housing projects.
More than 879 training programs have been launched to improve skills and livelihoods for residents in and around the new capital area.
